Local (Belgrade Lakes Village and vicinity) Days Store, center of Belgrade Lakes Village(495-2205) Convenience store plus more including pizza, gasoline, movie rentals
Double D's, on Rte 8 and Horsepoint Rd, east side of Great Pond (465-9567) Convenience store, sit down breakfast/lunch counter
Christy's, 5 miles from Village down Rt 27 Convenience store, gasoline
Augusta, Oakland/Waterville The larger grocery stores and big chain stores(Shaws, Hannaford, Walmart Supercenter, etc.) can be found in Augusta and Oakland/Waterville, both about 20 minutes from Belgrade Lakes. For Augusta shopping, go south on Rt 27 towards I95. For Oakland/Waterville, take Rt 27 south to Rts 8/11. Stay right at the 8/11 split on Rt 11 and follow to Oakland. Follow Kennedy Memorial Drive to Waterville.
RESTAURANTS
Local (Belgrade Lakes Village and vicinity) The Lazy Lab Cafe, just up from the post office and next to the Enchanted Swan and Antique Shop. Best coffee in town plus cappucino, latte's, smoothies and yummie eats for breakfast and lunch. High speed internet access.
The Village Inn, just up from the post office in Belgrade Lakes Village(495-3553) Home of the famous roast duckling. Reservations suggested.
Wings Hill Inn, just across the dam from Belgrade Lakes Village(495-2400) Upscale restaurant with pre-set menu. BYOB. Reservations suggested.
Sunset Grill, 1/2 mile south on Rt 27(495-2439) Casual restaurant serving burgers, "loon legs", fried seafood and karaoke on Saturday nights
Augusta, Oakland/Waterville You can find many of the chain restaurants such as Applebees, The 99, Margaritaville, Longhorn, etc. in these cities.
Other restaurants in the area Beales Barbecue, Water St. Augusta Famous in the region for its barbecue menu
Hatties Chowder House, Main St., Hallowell (621-4114) Sit down restaurant with some of the best chowder in the area in addition to entrees.
Slates, Main St, Hallowell(622-9575) Not too formal dining with a great and varied menu in the quaint town of Hallowell
Apollo Bistro, Silver St., Waterville(872-2242) A bit more upscale, a la carte menu in a neat bistro setting

GOLF
Belgrade Lakes is home to Belgrade Lakes Golf Club(495-GOLF), a top 5 nationally ranked public course. It is located just minutes from the center of the village. The views form the club house are spectacular along with the golf. Other courses in the area include:
Natanis Golf Course, Vasslaboro (622-3561) 2, 18 hole courses located about 30 minutes from the vilage.
Kennebec Heights Country Club, Farmingdale (582-2000) 18 hole course located about 30 minutes from the village.
Waterville Country Club, Oakland (465-9861) 18 hole course located 20 minutes from the village.
Sandy River Golf Course, Farmington Falls (778-2492) 9 hole course located 15 minutes from the village.
Sugarloaf Golf Club, Sugarloaf Mountain (800 THE LOAF) A truly spectaular Robert Trent Jones designed course, about 1 hour from the village.
Clinton Golf Course, Clinton (426-8795) Don't miss this hidden gem located just 30 minutes from the village. This 9 hole course is always in excellent condition and affordably priced.
HIKING
There are many great hiking opportunities right here in Belgrade Lakes and the surrounding towns. Get a local map of the Kennebec Highlands Trails at Days. These trails are well-maintained, well-marked and range from "easy" to "more difficult". Some of the local favorites include:
Blueberry Hill, off Watson Pond Rd. in Rome You can drive right to the top and get awesome views of Great Pond and Long Pond.
"The Mountain", off Rt 27 in Rome Easy to moderate trail right outside the Village. Take Rt 27 to Mountain Rd and go about 1 mile in to parking area.
French's Mountain, off Watson Pond Rd, in Rome Hike about a mile and get one of the best views you'll ever see.
Mt. Phillip, Rt 27 to Rt 225, Rome Hike all the way in to the peak(about 2 miles) to see one of the best views of Great Pond.

- Visit Acadia National Park and bike the carriage trails(2 hours away)
- Kayak/canoe down the Kennebec River(as little as 30 minutes away)
- Whitewater rafting down the Kennebec, Dead or Penobscot Rivers(about 2 hours away)
